FROG HISTORY (for interested parties that is, any party that wants to invite Frogs).
Once upon a time, the Government of the day decided to do away with Her Majestys Mental Institutions. And so it was
that six of Her Majestys guests found themselves roaming the streets of Sydney. Perhaps it was providence that they
should happen to meet since all were highly skilled professional musicians in their own minds. They knew, without any
shadows whatsoever, that it was to be their destiny to entertain audiences more fortunate than themselves.
They decided to form an orchestra. It mattered not that they had no trombone (though Madame admitted to keeping a
Vibraphone close to her at all times), it mattered not that they dressed differently and it mattered not that they spoke with
bad French accents and dressed like French Super Heroes! No! It only mattered that they spread what they had around
the Peasants at every opportunity and so FROGS ON TOAST was borne er, born.
They set out with great aplomb to become the best orchestra in the world but they failed miserably! Audiences would
rise up as one in tribal ritualistic ceremony and gyrate their hips in provocative postures every time the Frogs On Toast
Orchestra played! They were at a loss. Not only that, peasants who remained seated would laugh and laugh. And laugh.
Oh yes, it was terrible!
There was nothing for it. Since Club after Club would invite the Frogs Orchestra to play in their Clubs for the entertainment
of their peasants, they were forced to accept their lot and continue what comes naturally for them ie drawing attention to
themselves for whatever reason. It puts toast on the table and SO FROGS ON TOAST was born.
They still cant work out why everyone laughs at them. Cest la vie! |
